SIKESTON - Mamie Lou "Mimi" Pope Heath, 73, died Sept. 20, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 4, 1931, in East Prairie, daughter of the late William C. and Lillie Skaggs Pope, she lived in the Dogwood Community before moving to Sikeston 22 years ago. She retired as a ward secretary for Missouri Delta Medical Center and was a member of the Dogwood United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Hall McNiel of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jimmy and Betty Heath of Dogwood; and three grandsons, James Brandon Heath and his fiancee, Lori Parker Palmore of Columbia, Matthew Blake Heath of St. Louis and David Sullivan Heath of Fulton; and her mother-in-law, Ora Mae Heath of Dogwood.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William C. Pope Jr. and Richard Allen Pope; and three sisters, Maurine Pope Jackson, Mabel Pope Watson and Novel Pope Woods.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Charles Carr will officiate.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Arington, James Brandon Heath, Matthew Blake Heath, David Sullivan Heath, Hall McNeil and J.W. Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Arington, Stuart Bain, Jerry Morris, Larry Rowland, John Thurman and Grady Williford Jr.
