MARYLAND HEIGHTS -- Billy Joe "Jody" "Red" Early, 67, died Aug. 6, 2004, at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton.
Born April 13, 1937, at Vinson, son of the late Alvin Lester and Ruby Rebecca Gill Early, he graduated from Grayridge High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for General Motors for 44 years until his retirement.
In June 1963, at St. Louis, he married Nancy Sue Merick who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa Early of Maryland Heights and Lori and Mark Pettet of Cape Girardeau; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Greg and Melanie Early of Chesterfield and Mark Early of Maryland Heights; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Bogle of Morehouse; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Wayne Early, preceded him in death.
Services were conducted Aug. 10 at Colliers Funeral Home in Bridgeton. Dr. Ron Winkle officiated.
Burial followed in the Fee Fee Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Pallbearers were: Scott Bogle, Tom Rowell, David Rowell, James Boyer, Tom Twyman and Terry Lancaster.
