BLOOMFIELD - Harold Hood, 69, died Aug. 11, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1935, in Sturdivant, son of the late William Ralph and Flora Swindell Hood, he was a lifelong resident of Stoddard County. He owned and operated Hood Used Cars in Bloomfield and Dexter since 1960 and attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
On May 30, 1964, he married Sharon Clayton who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Bud Parks of Bloomfield and Elizabeth and Ed Wright of Jackson; one son, Ralph Hood of Bloomfield; one brother, Raymond Clois Hood of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Joshua Parks, Logan Parks and Brandon Wright; three stepgrandchildren, Ashley Parks, Nicole Parks and Lance Wright; and two nieces, Shelby Mills and Brenda Unsbee.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
