Speakout 8/12

Thursday, August 12, 2004

I've been reading SpeakOut lately and read where others have gotten fund-raising letters from John Kerry, like I have. No, I won't be voting for Kerry. But in last week's SpeakOut someone said they would send Kerry a Canadian quarter. I think I'll look and see if I have a Canadian quarter from 1971 and send that to him and then put on there that that was the year when he betrayed his comrades. My son is in Iraq now and has been there over five months, which is a month longer than Kerry served in Vietnam. He has been shot the same number of times Kerry was shot - zero.

Why don't the police do something about the drugs that are being sold at the corner of Prosperity Street and School Street and through the projects, close to the project houses? This goes on every night and the police drive by, look and keep going on. This is getting to be a problem. People in this area can't even sleep for the drug dealers sitting on the front porch selling drugs and drinking. These are people who don't even live in that house. There are kids all around, and they don't need to be around this place because it is getting out of hand. The police need to do something about it.

Have you contacted DPS? The number is 471-4711. All information will be kept confidential.

I know we all like for our streets to be pretty, but the housing authority sends out letters telling people to put their trash cans behind the house, off the street and off the pavement. I don't know why people who don't work are so lazy that they can't put their trash cans in the back and let the street be pretty.

Hey, you made my day again! What rock did you crawl out from under? Anyone who thinks Kerry and Mrs. Heinz are classy and sophisticated needs new glasses. Haven't you noticed that all his big talk and arms flying around that all he is promising is already in the works? All he will do is tax and tax and tax. You best be listening close and see if he ever gives you a real plan. By the way, to the person who said Kerry was in the Army more than four months, yes. He probably was, but not in Vietnam over four months. Two of his wounds were self-inflicted to get sent home. Seventeen of 23 guys in the service with him know this. It's pitiful he has to play big war hero because he has nothing to run on. What has he done in all those years he sat in the Senate but didn't bother to vote. Believe me, al-Qaida will be celebrating if we're dumb enough to put him in. By the way, it's not President Bush wanting the draft. It's your wonderful bunch up there, Mrs. Clinton and the rest. God, help us.

The Republicans are always accusing Kerry of flip-flopping, which may be true, I don't know. But how does President Bush have the guts to call and say a thing like that after he fought the 9/11 Commission tooth and nail and, only after pressure did he agree to it. But now he can't say enough nice things about it. I think if anybody is a flip-flop, he is one, right along with them.
