Wanda Harris
SIKESTON - Wanda Dean Harris, 66, died at 9:30 p.m. May 8, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 29, 1937, in Arkansas, daughter of Alberta Gipson of Decatur, Ill., and the late J.B. Johnson, she was a member of the New Morning Star Church in Haywood City.
In 1982, she married Eugene Harris who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: three sons, the Rev. Donald Gipson of Sikeston, Roger Gipson of St. Louis and Damon Gipson of Rockford, Ill.; six daughters, Lillie Banks, Laverne Gipson and MaKesha Gipson of Sikeston, Rose Gipson and Freeda Gipson of Haywood City and Shara Flagg of Decatur; three sisters, Julia Terrell of Chicago, Atter Mae Clark of Decatur and Dorothy Jean of Michigan; and 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son, one grandson, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Visitation is from noon Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston. The Rev. Donald Gipson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery at Haywood City.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Gipson, Roger Gipson, Jimmy Gipson, Joe Gipson, Tommy Gipson and Henry Banks.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Oran is in charge of arrangements.
