SIKESTON -- Ruth Bristow Johnson, 83, died at 4:16 a.m. March 14, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born May 25, 1920, in Lynn, Ark., daughter of the late Grover and Elmer Penn Bristow, she had worked at Brown Shoe Co. until her retirement and was of the Methodist belief.
On Dec. 14, 1939, in Black Rock, Ark., she married Kenneth Johnson who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1982.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Virgil Hubbard of Sikeston; two daughters-in-law, Sandy Johnson of Rolla and Stella Brand of Sullivan; one brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Jackie DeCordova of Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Jerrell Law of Texarkana, Ark.; and 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Johnson Jr., on July 13, 2000; and by two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kinder Cemetery in Cuba with the Rev. Danny Kemp, pastor of First Church of God in Rolla, officiating.
