DEXTER -- Vanita Conner, 81, died Dec. 29, 2003, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 16, 1922, at Sikeston, daughter of the late Nathan Simpson and Katy Louisa Freeman Noyes, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dexter and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 311.
On Nov. 20, 1941, she married Sherman Boone. She and Willis Conner were married April 26, 1985, and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Pat Boone of Dexter and David and Linda Boone of Batesville, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Dave Palmer of Syracuse, Ind.; two stepdaughters and one son-in-law, Sue and K.R. Kneal of Oregon, Mo., and Carol Wilcox of San Francisco, Calif.; one stepson, David Conner of San Francisco; three sisters, Mary Wiss of Rogers, Ark., and Mildred Bartlett and Lela Mae McElroy of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Oliver Noyes and Findley Noyes; and one sister, Lucille Bokovoy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
