SIKESTON - With many fond memories, Mayor Bill Burch prepares to bring to an end a nine-year stint on the Sikeston City Council. The council selects one of its own to serve as mayor, conducting council meetings and through their leadership, helping to keep the council moving. That has been the role Burch has played from 1984-85 and from 1987-92. "Sikeston's been very good to me," Burch said. "Being mayor has been a chance for me to give back something to the community." He credits the achievements to the citizens of Sikeston for being supportive of the city.
