SIKESTON - Dr. Patricia Ann Borthwick and Dr. George D. Methven have announced the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth D. Borthwick-Cheney, to Matthew Orth, son of Dr. and Mrs. Rick Orth of Estacada, Ore.

The future bride earned a bachelor of science degree at Onland University in Detroit, Mich., and is a second year medical student at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Orth, a graduate of Oregon State University, is also a second year medical student at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The couple will be married in an Aug. 11 ceremony.
