MATTHEWS - Mrs. Thomas B. Allen and Mrs. J.L. Matthews left Tuesday for St. Louis, en route to New York City, where Mary Emma Allen will spend the winter in the study of music. Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Matthews expect to spend a week in New York.
SIKESTON - Mrs. Gladys S. Stewart, employment counselor, and Leon Garnett, manager, both employees of the Missouri Division of Employment Security's Sikeston office, received recognition for longtime service.
SIKESTON - David Ragan, director of the Sikeston Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, said his budget will be cut another $62,000 this year. He noted that $232,000 for the center was cut last July, forcing the layoff of 17 people.
SIKESTON - The Citizen's Bank of Charleston recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Missouri Delta Medical Center's Foundation. Jack Farmer, executive vice president of the bank presented the donation to Blair Moran, Foundation vice president.
DELTA - East Prairie avenged Tuesday's lopsided defeat by rolling past Delta 80-39 Friday. The Eagles were never challenged by the hosts.
