SIKESTON -- Bethany Ellen Jenkins and Thomas Lynn Lowe exchanged wedding vows in an outdoor evening ceremony Sept. 20, 2003, at the Sikeston Complex Park. The Rev. Todd Crumley performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of John and Ellen Jenkins of Sikeston. Her grandparents are Merle and Otis Greer, Bud Miller and Lillian Jenkins, all of Sikeston.
Parents of the bridegroom are William and Tamela Johnson of Sikeston and the late Thomas Lynn Lowe Sr. His grandparents are Harold and Doris Schaefer of Houston and the late Carey and Betty Johnson.
Vocalist for the occasion was Keith Allan, cousin of the bridegroom. John-Erik Jenkins, brother of the bride, played the "Bridal March" on trumpet accompanied by R.J. Jenkins, cousin of the bride, on the violin.
Escorted by her parents, the bride wore an ivory and rum satin A-line gown with an asymmetrical drape skirt over two-tone beaded Schiffli lace. She also wore ivory pearl jewelry that belonged to her late great-grandmother, Lola Miller.
Robin Jenkins served her sister as maid of honor and Johnna Fisher, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Patterson, friend of the bride; Sandy Lowe, sister of the bridegroom; and Jenny Lathum, cousin of the bride. Flower girl was Paige Boschert, cousin of the bridegroom.
Serving his friend as best man was Daniel Shackles of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Matt Torbet and Brad Ryan, friends of the bridegroom; Matthew Johnson, brother of the bridegroom; and John-Erik Jenkins, brother of the bride. Bradley Brooks, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Ushers were Damon Shy and Kaleb Fisher and guest book attendants were Garrick Fisher and Wyatt Fisher of Sikeston, nephews of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception dinner and dance was held in the Clinton Building at the Sikeston Complex Park.
Reception attendants were Becky Jones, Priscilla Turner, Lenda Pearson, Alicia Strop, Sierra Greer, Linda Jenkins and Teresa Jenkins, friends and family members of the bride.
Sound and music for the ceremony and dance were provided by Vance Fisher, brother-in-law of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents Sept. 19 at the Grecian Steakhouse in Sikeston.
Following a honeymoon to Hawaii, the new Mr. and Mrs. Lowe are residing in Sikeston.
