PUXICO - Mary Hancock, 76, died March 15, 2004, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born July 21, 1927, in Puxico, daughter of the late Emerson and Bertha Akers Kitchen, she had lived all her life in Puxico, where she was a member of the Duck Creek Missionary Baptist Church for 40 years. She worked as deputy tax collector for Duck Creek Township for 14 years.
On Jan. 15, 1943, in Acorn Ridge, she married Ellsworth Hancock who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Melba Hancock, Larry and Pat Hancock, Tim and Rhonda Hancock and Todd and Tammy Hancock of Puxico; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Bill Gillean of Fisk and Darla and David Crain of Puxico; two sisters, Marvin Beaudean of Sikeston and Betty Parks of St. Louis; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one daughter, Linda Diane Hancock; four brothers, Floyd Clinton, Gene Clinton, Reuben Kitchen and Jewell Kitchen; and three sisters, Faye Morris, Inez Holigan and Billie Hargrave.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Duck Creek Missionary Baptist Church near Puxico. Elder Jerry Park of Puxico and Rev. Dean Medlin of Parma will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
