Buddy Denson

DEXTER - O.D. "Buddy" Denson, 83, died Feb. 28, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born July 27, 1918, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., son of Nebraska Dunaway Denson of Kennett and the late Robert Andrew Denson, he was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and former owner of a lumber company in Parma.

On Dec. 31, 1936, at Kennett, he married Anna Knotts who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, Jimmy Dale Denson of Wappapello; one daughter, Dawna Carter of Dexter; four sisters, Hazel Baker and Willa Mae Haraway of Kennett, Bobbie Cunningham of Parma and Jo Ann Fitterling of Bridgeton; and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Hollis Denson; and one sister, Hildridge Johnson.

Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. today until service time at 2 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Dale Grissom will officiate.

Burial will follow in Malden Memorial Park Cemetery.
