SIKESTON - Mrs. Keith Collins has been appointed librarian of the Sikeston Public Library, R.E. Bailey, chairman of the library board, announced Wednesday.

SIKESTON - Employees of the Woolworth Store had a wiener roast Wednesday night at the Chaney School house northeast of Sikeston.

NEW MADRID - Fred A. Sheeter of Morehouse has been named as New Madrid County Director of Welfare to succeed Mrs. Ruth Browning. He assumed his duties at the office in New Madrid Monday.

SIKESTON - The United Methodist Women of Sikeston donated $300 to the Heritage House program for senior citizens Thursday. The proceeds were from the organization's annual bazaar held last year. The United Methodist Women's 1982 annual bazaar is scheduled for Nov. 16. Kathleen Wissman accepted the donation check from Shirley Crites.

SIKESTON - The First National Bank of Sikeston recently donated $3,142 to the Sikeston United Way campaign. The bank matched $1,571 in donations given by the employees. Currently, the 1992 United Way campaign has reached 40 percent mark on its goal of $76,000.

BENTON - The Scott County R-4 School District's Board of Education has begun preliminary discussion on expanding school facilities with a proposal possibly being placed on the April 1993 ballot. At the Oct. 8 meeting, board members agreed to survey district patrons as to their understanding of the district's needs and attitudes toward the building proposal.
