Mark Broughton with the Army Corps of Engineers walks along the cofferdam which is holding the water back from a hole in the levee at New Madrid.

An additional two-feet of dirt was added to the dam as a precaution against rising waters.

The cofferdam is holding back water while a gravity flow pipe for drainage is being installed along the levee. Work is expected to be completed in about three months on the levee.
