BENTON - Scott County Commissioners signed an agreement with a landowner which will permit the county to drain County Road 447 through his land to reach Ditch 1.
"It's a low spot in the road," said Martin Priggel, presiding commissioner.
"We have an area that during the winter months stays saturated," Commissioner Jamie Burger further explained.
Commissioners will install a culvert to facilitate the drainage and have agreed to keep the ditch clear.
In other action taken during Tuesday's meeting:
* Commissioners awarded the bid to provide a new computer for the assessor's office to the low bidder, TAN Online of Scott City, which offered a computer for $2,430.
The new computer will replace a computer at an existing station that failed.
* The bid for a 9-foot 6-inch diameter, 55-foot-long tank car for use as a culvert went to the sole bidder, Diversified Railcar of Camden, Ark. The tank car will cost for $4,500 delivery included.
The tank car will replace a rusted-out culvert on County Road 450 two miles west of Highway 61.
* Commissioners signed off on the annual performance report for the victims advocate grant renewal.
