SIKESTON - Two young physicians were in here Tuesday afternoon as first lieutenants after volunteering their services to the Army. Dr. M.G. Anderson and Dr. A.D. Martin received the Army oath in a brief ceremony at the public library conducted by medical recruiting officers. Both will be called to duty Nov. 30.

SIKESTON - The surviving members of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. McGee held a family reunion Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The occasion followed the christening at the St. Francis Xavier Church of Felicia Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carr of St. Louis. Mrs. Carr is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. McGee.

CHARLESTON - Two of Charleston's outstanding women were paid tribute during Thursday evening's 17th Annual Woman of the Year Banquet, sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Club. Recipient of the Woman of the Year award was Annette Robinson and named as the Honorary Woman of the Year was Fern Smith.

SIKESTON - The medical staff at Missouri Delta Medical Center recently held election for its 1992-94 officers. Elected were Stephen Welton, M.D., chief of staff; Riyadh Tellow, M.C., vice-chief of staff; and Donald Cento, M.C., secretary.

CHARLESTON - The 1992 Southeast Missouri Band Association Marching Band Contest will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with a parade competition.
