SIKESTON - Several Sikeston Junior High and Sikeston Senior High choir members will represent their school in the Missouri Honor Choirs.

Molly Brinkmeyer, Edwina Daniel and Chelsie Helmes, representing seventh and eighth grades for the Sikeston Junior High Choir, and Sarah Addison, Maggie Pfefferkorn, Erin Bell and Jordan Myrick, representing the Sikeston Senior High, were chosen by taped auditions in April to sing in the Missouri Youth Honor Choir at Jefferson City July 17 at the First Baptist Church.

The director for the seventh-eighth grades choir, which will perform at 7 p.m., is Marjorie Camp, choir director at Campus Middle School in the Cherry Creek (Colo.) School District.

The director for the ninth-tenth grade choir, scheduled to follow at 8 p.m., is Richard Bjella, director of choral studies at Lawrence University, Conservatory of Music, in Appleton, Wis.

The students will be accompanied on the trip by their parents and choir director, Nora F. Fuchs.

Justin Griffen, class of '02, and Jake Kaiser, '03, will attend a week-long camp at the University of Missouri June 9-14. The students, who were chosen by taped auditions in May, will participate in large choir sessions, master class sessions and private lessons as well as a public concert scheduled for 7 p.m. June 14 in Whitmore Hall.

The camp is conducted by Dr. David Rayl, professor of choral studies at the university.
