WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. -- Portageville basketball standout J.T. Williams signed a letter of intent to play for Williams Baptist, a four-year liberal arts college in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
"It's a good opportunity for me," said Williams. "It's a good school in a good location. It's a small community and it's a great campus."
Williams, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game for Portageville's 24-4 team this year.
"He's going to be a real good ballplayer for them," said Portageville coach Jim Bidewell. "He's got a real nice shot and he's got a good basketball sense. I feel he's going to be a steal for them."
Williams Baptist competes in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
