SIKESTON -- In the American League of Sikeston Area Youth Baseball, Fabick is a powerhouse this year. The squad led the division most of the year before slipping in the last week of the regular season, finishing with a record of 9-4.

Fabick got the No. 2 seed in this week's American League tournament.

"We had a fantastic year," said Fabick manager Tim Foust. "The kids really came together and played as a team. Every boy did their part, and that's what we tried to stress all year."

Defensively, Fabick is sound with Aaron Branson on first base, Joseph Kordahl at second, Caleb Foust at third and Tyler Evans at short.

Jason Isaacs is the team's ace and Ronnie Pyland is behind the plate. The outfield consists of Luke Jones in left, Matthew Hill in center and Patrick Western and David Hardesty in right.

Fabick put together an impressive seven-game win streak in the regular season, where they averaged 14 runs per game. But the streak came to an end when Foust went on vacation, and the team lost two games.

Sonny's Solid Waste won the regular season title over Fabick and got the top seed in the tournament.
