BLOOMFIELD - Dow David Kingree, 80, died Feb. 27, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 28, 1923, at Pocahontas, Ark., son of the late Elwyn and Sadie Million Kingree, he was a member of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles in World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was the recipient of four Bronze Stars. After retiring in 1985 as a maintenance worker for the Bloomfield School District, he read meters for SEMO Electric.
On April 5, 1947, he married Velma McRoy who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Larry Kingree of Cape Girardeau, Michael Kingree of Ellsinore and Steven Kingree of Jackson; one daughter, Donna Hutchison of Bloomfield; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Kingree; and two sisters, Ruby Neal and Ruth Kime.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Full military honors were conducted at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
