Sikeston scored the only run they would need in the third inning when Paige Silverthorn singled and scored on an Allison Blurton single.
On the mound, Molly Brinkmeyer did the rest as she shut down the Lady Knights' offense, limiting them to four hits with no walks. She struck out eight while pitching all seven innings.
Her performance came one day after shutting out Chaffee on a two-hitter.
"Brinkmeyer threw an excellent game," said Sikeston coach Tiffany Glastetter. "Her rise ball was excellent. She got the game ball for her performance today. She really threw well and kept their hitters in check the entire day."
The Lady Bulldog defense helped out Brinkmeyer by committing no errors on the night.
"I'm greatly pleased with this win," said Glastetter. "Our defense played flawless. We got that one run in, our defense held up and we held them to no runs."
Brinkmeyer was Sikeston's only player to collect two hits. In addition to Blurton and Silverthorn, Barbara Hobbs, Julie Annesser and Erin Wibbenmeyer each had one hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
Sikeston (4-1) will play Poplar Bluff in the Notre Dame Tournament on Saturday at 9 a.m.
TAMMS, Ill. -- The Delta Lady Bobcats softball team crossed the river into Illinois and came back with a 14-0 rout of Egyptian on Wednesday.
Sarah Cook threw another gem for Delta, allowing one hit in five innings of work. She struck out 10, walked none and had a no-hitter going until allowing a one-out single in the fifth. Cook was one out away from a no-hitter on Tuesday against Twin Rivers.
"She was close again," said Delta coach Laura Brown. "They finally got a hit in the last inning to break it up. She's pitching well right now. Once she gets to that level she is tough to hit."
Delta was led in hitting by Shea Smith, who went 2-3 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI.
Jessica Drew added two hits with two RBIs.
