SCOTT CITY - Alfreda Mae Hamilton, 87, died at 1:20 a.m. Feb. 22, 2004, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born June 7, 1916, in Benton, daughter of the late Louis and Ellen Keesee Dickerson, she was a surgical technician for the maternity ward at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1976. She was a member of New Life Methodist Church in Scott City.
On March 23, 1935, at Jackson, she married Hershel Carl Hamilton, who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1985.
Survivors include: four sons, Carl Hamilton of Jackson, Louis Hamilton of Rockview, Kenneth Hamilton of Chaffee and Larry Hamilton of Lowndes; two daughters, Doris Yahn of Chaffee and Linda Lands of Delta; and 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Dickerson, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
Our precious mother has gone to join our dad in heaven. She will be greatly missed, but she will be safe with Jesus.
