Clarence Edgar

PORTAGEVILLE - Clarence Edgar, 74, died Feb. 23, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Portageville, son of the late Thomas and Clara Edgar, he was a farm laborer before retiring.

On Sept. 2, 1968, in Portageville, he married Mary Lou Phillips who preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1991.

Survivors include: one son, Clarence T. Edgar of Doniphan; one daughter, Evelyn Jo Weaver of Portageville; one brother, Harold Edgar of Portageville; one sister, Opal Mathenia of Rockford, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one half brother, Floyd Edgar; and one half sister, Dorothy Poe.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
