SALEM - Arvona Costella Walker, 65, died May 30, 2002, at her home near Salem.
Born May 3, 1937, in Stoddard County, daughter of the late Archie Arvel and Gladys Cooper Warren, she lived in Dexter until moving to Salem in 1987. She was a seamstress first for Elder Manufacturing in Dexter and later at Hagle Garment Manufacturing in Salem, where she retired.
On Feb. 13, 1954, at Holly Springs, Miss., she married Richard Walker who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Tammy Walker of Salem; three sisters, Shirley Warren of Granite City, Ill., Lovetta Cookson of Dexter and Margie Sadler of Bloomfield; three brothers, Kent Warren of Madison, Ill., Butch Warren of Granite City and Wayne Warren of Salem; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, one in infancy and Kay Nevels.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Charles Richardson of Piggott, Ark., will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
