MATTHEWS - James H. "Cub" Tidwell, 67, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 29, 1937, in Fayette County, Ala., son of the late Bersie and Clara Tucker Tidwell, he was a retired farm laborer and attended the First Baptist Church in Canalou.
His first wife, Ollie McCormick, preceded him in death in 1978.
On Nov. 21, 1980, he married Elizabeth Vandiver Scott who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two stepsons, Jamie Scott of Portageville and SFC Bradley Scott of Fort Monroe, Va.; two brothers, Roy Tidwell of Oran and Gene Tidwell of Canalou; seven sisters, Ann Evans and Bonnie Ditto of Oran, Mary Holt of Blodgett, Donna Tidwell and Hassie Sweet of Bertrand, Faye Krauss of East Prairie and Charmain Vanryswyck of Albert Lee, Minn.; and four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Crowe.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Dewayne Coleman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canalou, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews: Richard Ditto Jr., Gene Tidwell Jr., Paul Wayne Krauss, Christopher Kertiburg, Robert Kersey, James Reudrich, Johnny Patrick and Jimmy Fowler.
