Construction on the new facility should be completed sometime in May, according to Harvey Cooper, director of the workshop. "This expansion furthers our desire to be a viable business in the community." Funds for the building were raised through Scott County's mill tax, which was passed in 1975 to supply the workshop and/or group housing for handicapped individuals in the county. The workshop employs about 100 handicapped persons from Scott, Mississippi and New Madrid counties. The business supplies the reels, pallets and packaging for area businesses.
