SCOTT CITY - John Alan Owen, 59, died at 3:40 p.m. Dec. 25, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 29, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Francis Edward and Bertha Helen Cassout Owen, he was a painter for General Sign Co. A certified diver PADI, he was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Scott City, Eagles Aerie 3319 in Sikeston, Scott County Historical Society and the Painters District Council No. 2.
On Oct. 10, 2002, at Benton, he married Patricia Mae Clark who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Pobst of Chaffee; two stepdaughters, Beth Bahr and Shauna O'Gara of Scott City; one brother, Francis Owen of Richmond, N.C.; one sister, Donna Ford of Hewitt, Texas; and one grandchild and one stepgrandchild.
One sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. Monday until service time at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Scott City. The Rev. Charlie Patterson, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
