ANNISTON - Mary A. Steward, 80, died at 10:35 a.m. Dec. 11, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 4, 1924, in Bragg City, daughter of the late Alvin and Lena McKinley Myrick, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She worked for Brown Shoe Company in Charleston for 31 years before retiring on Feb. 4, 1986.
On Feb. 27, 1948, in East Prairie, she married Vester "Stud" Steward who preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1996.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jeannie Thurman and Sharon Harvell of Anniston; four brothers, Forrest "Buddy" Myrick of Sikeston, Lyndon "Runt" Myrick of East Prairie, Ronald Myrick of Anniston and John Myrick of El Paso, Texas; one sister, Lena Brown of Anniston; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Myrick; and two sisters, Dorothy Null and Beulah Quay.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday with Martin Lucas, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: John Myrick, Sam Brown, Wesley Harvell, Michael Davis, Reggie Ahlfield and Tommy Brack.
