DEXTER - Shirley Johnston, 68, died Nov. 22, 2004, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Born May 1, 1936, in Puxico, daughter of the late Fred J. and Victoria Watkins Davis, she was a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church in Dexter. She retired as a sewing room supervisor for the Elder Manufacturing Company after 47 years of service.
On July 2, 1955, at Puxico, she married Paul Johnston who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, David Johnston of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; one daughter, Vicky Fields of Dexter; one sister, Patricia Fields of Tacoma, Wash.; and three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Thelma Findley and Maudie Hartzell; one stepsister, Grace Peterson; and one stepbrother, Buford Taylor.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Danny Dunivan will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
