BLOOMFIELD - Lois Lovella Evans, 79, formerly of Mississippi County, died Nov. 11, 2003, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Bloomfield.
Born April 24, 1924, in Bear Creek, Ala., daughter of the late John Malcolm and Cora Willis Frix, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She lived in Bloomfield for the past 23 years and was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.
On Oct. 26, 1946, she married William N. "Dude" Evans who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2003.
Four brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, James Curtis Evans of Dallas, Texas, and William George Evans of Bloomfield; three daughters, Donna Forbey of Bloomfield, Netta Stevens of New Orleans, La., and Treva Doris King of East Prairie; two sisters, Elsie Shelby of Bertrand and Jeffie Goodrum of Hayti; and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Stephen Mather, Shannon England, Dale Jackson, George Doolin, Evan Jackson and Joey King.
