CHICAGO - Evangelist Jessie B. Jackson Duncan, 66, died Nov. 19, 2004, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Born June 12, 1938, in Augusta, Ark., daughter of the late Willie J. and Rosie Lee Barnes Jackson, she lived in Chicago since 1969. She attended school in Bell City, Mo., received her bachelor of science degree in education and criminal justice from Northeastern University in Chicago and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of St. James Church of God in Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, Lester Duncan, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Marvin Jackson of St. Louis; three daughters, Carolyn Grishom of Junction City, Kan., Patricia Shavers of St. Louis and Leslie Parker of Maywood; four brothers, Eddie Lee Jackson of Marion, Ind., Willie Lee Jackson of Fresno, Calif., Carl Lee Jackson of Dixmoor and Daniel Lee Jackson of St. Louis; six sisters, Jerlean Lesure and Shirley Higgins of Maywood, Dr. Earnestine Pullen and Ceretha Brown of Bellwood and Virginia Byrd and Ruth Jackson of Harvey; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Friday until service time at noon at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. Joe Nabors, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery at Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
