Local store robbed again

Friday, November 26, 2004

SIKESTON -- For the second time in a week a robbery has occurred at Casey's General Store at 1203 W. Malone.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden reported that at around 6:15 p.m. Thursday a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jacket and green face mask produced a gun and demanded the store's money before fleeing on foot.

The store clerks described the suspect as approximately 5-feet, 8-inches and 150 pounds. An undetermined amount of money was taken and the case is under investigation by DPS detectives.

Casey's was also robbed on Nov. 17 when a black male, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches to 5-foot, 9-inches, about 140-155 pounds entered the store with a handgun and assaulted one of the clerks before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

Juden asks that anyone with information concerning these robberies to call DPS at 471-6200 or Crimestoppers at 471-1500. All calls can be kept confidential and rewards are offered for tips that lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in these cases.
