Friday, November 26, 2004

NEW MADRID - A Campbell woman is charge with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a traffic accident some 18 months ago.

Yvonne B. Duck, 26, was released Wednesday after posting a $50,000 bond on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with a May 15, 2003, traffic accident which killed Twylia Walls of Lilbourn.

Associate Judge Charles Spitler set formal arraignment for Nov. 29 in Division II of New Madrid County Circuit Court.

Authorities said investigation into the accident has been on-going since the accident.

Walls was struck by a vehicle at 2:10 a.m. May 15, 2003, on Highway 62, two miles west of Risco, according to reports from the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department.

At the time of the accident, authorities called Walls' death as "traffic-related" however relatives of the victim had claimed she had been involved in an argument earlier in the evening and had gotten out of the vehicle prior to being struck.
