SCOTT CITY - Richard Carl Mayberry, 76, died Aug. 12, 2004, in his home.

Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Bell City, son of the late Charlie and Sarah Blocker Mayberry, he worked for 20 years as a machine operator at Foamex. A U.S. Army veteran, he had been a staff sergeant and earned three medals. He was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church in Scott City, where he was a trustee and Sunday School superintendent.

On Oct. 3, 1955, he married Etta L. Winemiller who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Larry Mayberry of Scott City; four daughters, Laura Griffin ad Linda Dinkens of Advance and Lydia Lemons and Lenae Schroeter of Scott City; and 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at 11 a.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Bruce Clubb will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
