SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Beck entertained at a family dinner in their home Sunday in observance of their 28th wedding anniversary and the sixth wedding anniversary of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mow Jr.

SIKESTON - When carrier Jim Keller opened the mail collection box at College and Moore this morning, he collected a white rabbit along with the mail. The rabbit was inside the box, stuffed there apparently by someone who wanted to get rid of it, or by some child. The rabbit can be claimed at Mr. Keller's home at 801 Ruth St.

CHARLESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Carmon Kuykendall of Charleston became the parents of a new daughter this week at 9:30 a.m. in the hospital here.

SIKESTON - As the city's five-year street improvements program enters its second full year of operation, residents of Sikeston continue to see more paving progress. "Things are going very well," said Sikeston Department of Public Works Director Doug Friend, who has seen his department's street-improvement budget increase more than tenfold since 1985.

SIKESTON - Lt. James E. "Jim" McNiell of the Missouri State Highway Patrol has been promoted to commander of the Troop E Satellite office in Sikeston. Coming from Troop G out of Willow Springs, McNiell took over his position July 1.
