CHARLESTON - Huriah Fennell Sr., 87, died at 11:53 p.m. May 11, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born in Arlington, Tenn., to the late Andrew and Susie Fennell, he had lived in Missouri for more than 58 years. He was retired from the Cairo Salvage Yard and was a member of the House of Prayer Outreach Mission.

His wife, Rosie Lee Whitney Fennell, preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1997.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Charles Harris of Charleston and Willie Mae and Clint Hunter of Benton Harbor, Mich.; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Lee Andrew Fennell of Indianapolis, Ind.; Joe and Shirley Fennell of Fort Myers, Fla., Johnny Fennell of Wyatt, Henry and Carol Fennell, Huriah and Iness Fennell Jr., Glen and Carla Fennell Sr. of Charleston and Willie B. and Carol Fennell of Sikeston; one brother, Ben Thomas of Chicago; and 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at noon Monday until time for services at 1 p.m. Monday at the House of Prayer World Outreach Center with Joann McCauley, pastor, and the Rev. Ronald Sloan officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston in charge of arrangements.
