CHAFFEE - Gradon Street Davis Sr., 87, died May 13, 2004, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born May 25, 1916, in Russellville, Ark., son of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Dotson Davis, he retired as a machine operator for the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the General Baptist Church at Randles.
On Feb. 17, 1948, he married Mildred Brown Crowden who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Ray Crowden of House Springs, Charles Crowden and Gradon "Butch" Davis Jr. of Chaffee and Randy Davis of Henderson, Nev.; six daughters, Sue Reddish, Glenda Blue, Doris Parker, Debbie Cook and Norma Parker of Chaffee and Linda McDonough of Henderson; and 38 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother, one sister and one great-grandson.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bob Murray will officiate.
Graveside military rites will be conducted at Union Park Cemetery.
