JEFFERSON CITY - Twenty-four new Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, including one from New Madrid County, graduated from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy July 23 in Jefferson City. They will report for duty on Aug. 9. The 82nd Recruit Class began on Jan. 18.

The recruits accumulated points toward graduation in the categories of physical fitness, firearms, and academics throughout their 27 weeks at the Academy.

Among the members of the 82nd Recruit Class of the Highway Patrol was Shawn W. Rhodes of Portageville. He will be stationed with Troop C in Franklin County.

NEW MADRID - Edward Jones Investment Representative Harry Gremore of New Madrid recently received the A.F. McKenzie Achievement award for his outstanding efforts over the past year. The award is named for Al McKenzie, who developed the firm's training program during his nearly 60 years of service with Edward Jones.

"When you work for a firm that is known for its outstanding service, it's quite an honor to be singled out for your service record," Gremore said.

Gremore was one of only 1,252 of the firm's more than 9,400 investment representatives to receive the award.

Gremore has an office located at 1390 Scott St. in New Madrid and has served the New Madrid area since 1999. Active in several local groups including the New Madrid Chamber of Commerce, he is also an Edward Jones Mentor.
