EAST PRAIRIE - Birdie Mae Williams, 96, died at 2:45 p.m. April 19, 2004, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 27, 1907, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Harry and Effie Roach Zook, she was a lifelong resident of East Prairie, where she was a member of the Full Gospel Church.
On June 25, 1925, she married Gough Williams who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1974.
Survivors include: three sons, Willie Williams of East Prairie, Finley Williams of Sikeston and Alton Williams of Neosho; two daughters, Betty McGill of East Prairie and Judy Garrett of Sikeston; and 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Zook, Johnny Zook and Oliver Zook; and one sister, Mattie Moore.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Mike Johnson and Helen Kersey will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Lee Zook, Jerry Zook, Billy Zook, Gary Zook, Jimmy Moore and David Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jackie Moore, Elvin Zook, Chelvis Zook, Bobby Zook and Forest Glenn.
