BELTON, Texas - Melody Darlene Menz, 60, formerly of Scott City, Mo., died April 23, 2004, at her home.
Born Sept. 18, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, Mo., daughter of the late Delmar J. Dopp and Francis E. Reeves, she owned and operated the "Helping Hands" residential cleaning service and had also worked at Thorngate. A 1961 graduate of Illmo Scott City High School in Scott City, she attended Cape Business College and St. Louis University in Missouri before moving to Belton seven years ago where she attended the Keys Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Missy Lindsey of Reidland, Ky., and Leslie Peterson of Copperas Cove; one brother, D.G. "Buck" Dopp of South Padre Island; two sisters, Shirley Bain of Temple and Mary Eberhardt of Belton; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Mark Fisher officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau County, Mo.
