CHAFFEE - Amy Nell Surlet, 80, died at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 28, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 6, 1922, in Whitewater, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Jane Hedge Rhodes, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitewater.
In July 1976, she married Herb Surlet who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: five daughters, Martha LaVergne of Picayane, Miss., Betty Shuls of Georgetown, Fla., Judy Semkin of New London, Carol Jeffries of Villa Ridge and Cindy Diggs of St. Louis; two sisters, Genevia Dirden of Cape Girardeau and Loretta Crites of Whitewater; and 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, one brother, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Cliff Day and Gerald Jones will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Crump Cemetery at Crump.
