SIKESTON - Ruby Irene Flanigan, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:20 a.m. March 19, 2007, at the New Horizon Center.
Born Jan. 15, 1917, at Marston, to the late George Robert and Cora Elizabeth Evans Russell, she lived most of her life in Sikeston where she was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist belief, and she was loved by many.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Peggy Flanigan of Eureka; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Wayne Cook of Piedmont and Vina and Ben Swallows of Sikeston; 27 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Dennis and Terry Bucannon of Puxico and the Rev. John and Regina Givens and Stanley and Caroline Clark of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by: three sons, Lloyd L. Flanigan, DeWayne Flanigan and Douglas Flanigan; and three daughters, Louise Scisim, Hazel Green and Jane Ellen Parks.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Her grandson, the Rev. Brian Flanigan, pastor of Victory Life Center in Oran, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. John Givens, pastor of Potter's House Ministries in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Tony Cook, Jeff Parks, Charles Burton, Lee Flanigan, Wayne Flanigan and Joey Flanigan.
