SIKESTON -- Clint Browning, 24, of Poplar Bluff, was identified as the man arrested for the attempted robbery and robbery of Sikeston pharmacies last week.

Browning was arrested after information was received by Sikeston Department of Public Safety detectives of his identity based upon the airing of his photo on a local television station.

The arrest stems from two incidents Friday evening. The first was an attempted robbery that occurred at Medicap on North Main at 5:47 p.m. The second was a robbery at the Medicine Shoppe on South Main at 5:53 p.m.

Poplar Bluff Police arrested Browning without incident after it was determined that he was currently wanted in Alabama as a probation absconder.

Information received led to the recovery of the suspect's car and during interviews with the suspect, 385 out of the 523 pills of oxycontin was recovered along with other evidence that corroborated Browning's involvement in the crimes.

Browning was transported by DPS detectives to Sikeston where he is in custody under $150,000 bond on a charge of second degree pharmacy robbery. Additional charges are expected by the Scott County prosecutor's office after reviewing all reports.
