WILLIAMSVILLE - Frances I. Childress, 51, died Nov. 11, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born Jan. 27, 1952, in Matthews, daughter of Essie Marie Buttry Ray of Benton and the late Auda Cecil Ray, she retired as a nursing home administrator. She was a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Poplar Bluff.
In 1997, in Williamsville, she married Phillip Childress who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: one son, Lance Donze of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Mistee Donze of Poplar Bluff; one stepson, Jim Childress of Cape Girardeau; one stepdaughter, Julie Otto of Springfield; five brothers, Herman Ray of Olive Branch, Ill., Dale Ray of Lilbourn, Bruce Ray and Danny Ray of Benton and Lynn Ray of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Merrick and Lavona Ray.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ned Bowden and Henry Foster officiating.
Burial followed in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
