HAYTI -- Chaffee's volleyball team posted its seventh win of the season on Wednesday, defeating Hayti in three sets.
The Lady Red Devils lost the first set 7-15, but came back to win the second 15-11 and the third 15-12.
"We were winning all three games by a score of 14-6," explained Chaffee head coach David Mirly. "After that disappointing first loss, we were able to bounce back and remain focused. I give our girls credit for pulling it out in the end."
Mallory Kiefer had two blocks, three assists, 18 digs, 10 kills, five points and two aces.
Natalie Townsend had one block, six assists, 16 digs, five kills, eight points and two aces.
Ashley Graham had 14 digs, six kills, four points and two aces. Jennifer Vandeven had two blocks, 15 digs, 20 kills, 10 points and four aces.
Molly Fowler had one assist, nine digs, one kill, nine points and two aces.
Ashton Lee had 25 assists, five digs, seven points and two aces.
Lindsey Everett finished with two digs and one kill, and Samantha Hendrix contributed four kills.
Chaffee (7-14) will host Portageville today in the final home match of the regular season.
ORAN -- New Madrid County Central defeated Oran in three sets on Wednesday, 6-15, 15-3, 15-3.
For Oran, Teresa Hodges had five points, three kills and three blocks. Tori St. Cin had eight points and five digs. Amanda Hurst contributed five points.
Oran (9-13) will host Cape Central tonight at 6 p.m. NMCC also won the junior varsity match, 15-12, 15-4.
