BLOOMFIELD - Iva I. Liggett, 92, died Feb. 24, 2003, at her home.
Born Dec. 17, 1910, in Ardeola, daughter of the late Charlie and Lillian Clary Workman, she was a member of the Bell City Assembly of God Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and song leader for many years. She was employed as a cook for Bell City School before retiring.
On April 5, 1930, she married Herman Liggett who preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1980.
Survivors include: one son, Marlin Liggett of Hazelwood; five daughters, Zilpha Abernathy of Perryville, Linda Schroeder and Juanita Fisher of Dexter; Barbara E. Merick of Bloomfield and Patsy Umfleet of Bell City; and 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Liggett; one sister, Bertha King; and five brothers, Leonard Workman and Earl Nunn, Ralph Nunn, Paul Nunn and Boyd Nunn.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Lynn Ash, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
