MATTHEWS -- Margot Eby Holmes, 69, died Nov. 23, 2004, at her home outside of Matthews.
Born May 4, 1935, in Bunceton, daughter of the late John H. and Alice Rachel Engle, she was a home economics teacher at Clarkton High School, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Matthews, the Christians Women's Fellowship and the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
In 1955, she married Charles Eby who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1984.
On July 4, 1992, she married Jim Holmes who survives the home in Matthews.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Anita Eby of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Dan Turner of Mesa, Ariz., Debbie and Keenan Carlisle of Risco and Karen Eby of Chicago, Ill.; one daughter-in-law, Terri Cowan of New Madrid; one brother, John Robert Engle of Clinton; and nine grandchildren, Shauna Eby, Dana Eby, Zachary Cowan and Jake Cowan of New Madrid, Jon Daniel Turner of Mesa, Kyle Carlisle and Chelsea Carlisle of Risco and Lauren Eby and Maggie Eby of Sikeston.
One son, Eddie Eby, preceded her in death in 1982.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First Christian Church of Matthews, located at 207 Roberts St., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Eddie Wells, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Keenan Carlisle, Kyle Carlisle, Zach Cowan, Jon Daniel Turner, Dan Turner and Randy Copeland.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Lancaster, Walter McCormick and Joe Mooney.
