DEXTER - James "Rod" Norman, 75, died Nov. 15, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born Feb. 11, 1927, at Dexter, son of the late Hallie H. and Elinor Cox Norman, he farmed in the Parma area before retiring and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division. He attended John Brown and Southeast University and was a member of the Dexter Evangelical Free Church.
On March 19, 1955, in Parma, he married Marlene Azbill who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Starrla Norman of Dexter; one daughter, Kimberly Norman of Dexter; one brother, Harold S. Norman of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Sue Miller of Basking Ridge; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
