Old-timers say that for every fog we have in June, July and August, that's the number of snows we will have in the coming winter. I have done some homework on this, but this does work. It may not be 100 percent, but the number of snows we'll have next winter will be 95 percent accurate with the number of fogs we have in the summer.

George Bush's belief that the United States has the right to use force against nations that he believes may threaten American security is based on the assumption that Washington can make accurate judgments about how serious such a danger is. If the intelligence is wrong or the government distorts it, the United States will squander its credibility. Even worse, it will lose the ability to rally the world and the American people to the defense of the country when real threats materialize.

A small church is looking for a building to move into between Sikeston and Charleston. Please call (573) 887-3219.

I was looking at the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events on the Website and the Professional Golf Association's Hooter's Tour isn't even on their July calendar. I don't understand this because it's the third largest men's golf tour in the United States and that week is going to be a huge revenue producer for Sikeston. More than 20 Sikeston businesses sponsor this event, the majority of which are Chamber members. What's wrong with the Chamber of Commerce? Missing the boat again, it seems.

The SACC Community Calendar is used to provide information about Chamber of Commerce member events. If you have other questions about the SACC Calendar, call the Chamber at 471-2498. The Bootheel Golf Club, who is not a Chamber member, is hosting the Hooter's Tour. For information about the tour, visit the Bootheel Golf Club's Website at www.bootheelgolf.com or call the club at 472-6111.

I stopped at a convenience store the other night to buy a soda and use the restroom. As I was getting back into my car, a police officer stopped me and said he was about to go on duty and was trying to control the teen-agers. I was the only teen-ager on the parking lot and was getting back into my car. What does he expect? At least we're not doing drugs and having sex. Come on. Get off of us.

The road on North Ingram will be very nice once it's paved. There is a 35-mile speed limit sign by the Complex area but there needs to be one closer to where the homes are and there are children who cross that road many times to go to the Complex. Also, it would be great if we could get a spray fountain in the Complex pond. That would add to the aesthetic beauty of the pond into our town.

The ad that has run in the newspaper under Livestock for free healthy roosters, 481-0633, is not a working number.

Sorry, caller. You must have called the day the owner was gone or the day when Sikeston's power was out. We called this number and spoke with the owner.

I have had all the sexual affairs of the ex-president I want, but I still would vote for either one, Hillary or Bill in 2004. They both have extraordinary intelligence from middle-income people. They are brilliant people with good common sense. You can't beat that. With all his dad's money, Bush still can't top them.

The Clintons have received nearly $10 million in book deals since leaving office. That hardly qualifies them as "middle income."
